Town Manager
The Town of Nolensville was recently given a grant from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation which is aimed at using State American Rescue Plan funds to implement water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure maintenance and improvement projects. We have selected a consulting engineering firm, Neel-Schaffer, Inc., to perform a Town-wide inventory and condition assessment of Nolensville’s stormwater assets, develop a Town-wide stormwater study, and develop plans for stormwater capital improvement projects resulting from the study’s recommendations. Teams of personnel will be seen around Nolensville collecting information on the Town’s stormwater system. They will be wearing bright-colored vests and carrying iPads and survey equipment to collect information on the storm infrastructure between March 20 and mid-June. The Town of Nolensville is seeking public input on the Town’s first10-year parks and recreation master plan. This plan will outline priorities for Nolensville’s parks and recreation system for the next 10 years and is a requirement for the Town to receive grant funding from the state. Join us Monday April 8th from 5-7pm at Nolensville Town Hall to see the plans and give us your feedback. This will be open-house style event set-up with vision boards containing highlights from each section of the Master Plan. The input received from the community will help guide the recommendations in the Master Plan and help shape the future of Nolensville’s parks.

Police Department
This week, the Nolensville Police Department visited the office of the Bedford County Sheriff. We are preparing for a future police department facility and are looking at other newly constructed buildings as examples. We would like to thank Bedford County Sheriff Swing and Commissioner Miller for taking the time to help during this visit.  

The Nolensville Police Officers visited the Brentwood Police Department for a demonstration of the Star Chaser pursuit alternative. This device allows officers to project a device onto a fleeing vehicle that will track the movements of the vehicle until it can be found later. This device has the potential to reduce the risks that are associated with a close-in high-speed pursuit.   

Fire Department
We are excited to share that Michael O'Leary has been promoted to Lieutenant and Gregory Whaley has been promoted to Engineer. Ryan Gaffney was also recently promoted to Fire Captain. Each firefighter had to complete a promotional process made up of practical testing, written exams, real world scenarios, and interviews with panels. They have proven their qualifications through training and certifications and will do well in their new roles.

Congratulations to Mike Palmesi and Brenden Evans who have both successfully passed the pumper driver operator certification through the Tennessee Commission on Firefighting. This is a certification program requires several weeks of training prior to taking the practical and written tests for the Engineer positions.

This week, Lieutenant William Spradley completed the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Rescue Specialist Certificate. This series of courses and certifications both online and in person at TEEX trains members of rescue teams at the highest level to prepare them for action during structural collapse and other rescue operations.

The exterior building of our new fire station is nearing completion, and the site work has commenced. The curb is installed, and construction teams are preparing for the concrete drives and parking to be poured. On the inside of the building, the walls are up, and the drop ceilings are being installed with lights and speakers being added. The electrical transformer is set and permanent power is on.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of the Town of Nolensville will hold a public hearing of Ordinance 24-01, An Ordinance Amending the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget by the Board of Commissioners in the Town of Nolensville, Tennessee - E-Citations, at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2024, or as soon thereafter as the item can be considered by the Board of Commissioners of the Town of Nolensville. This public hearing will be held at Town Hall located at 7218 Nolensville Road, Nolensville, TN. All ordinances are available for public inspection in the Office of the Town Recorder for anyone who desires to examine it. All interested persons are encouraged to attend the public hearing to express their opinions concerning the passage of this item. We have two openings on the Historic Zoning Commission. This commission promotes the identification, evaluation, rehabilitation, adaptive reuse, and restoration of the Town's historic, architectural, and archaeological resources through the enforcement of the Historic District Overlay. The commission meets as needed on the last Thursday of each month at 3:00 pm at Town Hall. Public Works Department
This week our team completed an awning installation for Nolensville Police Department. We installed adopt-a-street signage on Fly Road and Sheldon Valley. The “No Parking” signage for Telfair was also installed and completed.

Finance Department
We have hired two new employees for Finance and Human Resources. Heather Combs is our new Finance Technician and Sharon Heide will be our Finance/HR Clerk. We are excited to have their experience and passion as part of our team!

This week we held our first public budget presentation for the FY25. The presentation can be found as part of the BOC work session meeting from Monday March 25th.

Planning Department
On Tuesday March 19th, the Planning Commission approved the proposed Site Development Plan for the Nolensville Free Standing Emergency Room. The building will be 11,484 sq. ft., located on approximately 11 acres at 2000 Ava Place. This addition to the Town will ensure that our citizens have easy access to emergency services. Freestanding Emergency Room services include 24/7 adult and pediatric emergency care, emergency-trained physicians and nurses, and dedicated exam/trauma rooms.

Building Department
Blasting in and around Nolensville seems to be a regular occurrence these days. Unfortunately, the Town of Nolensville has no regulatory authority over the companies conducting this work. The State of Tennessee Fire Marshal’s Office is the authority having jurisdiction and their office investigates all complaints. Their contact phone number is: 615-741-7190.

  5. The program will populate all results with those numbers. Select your address
  6. Next, click on your parcel
  7. At the top of the resulting page, toggle “Documents” at the top

Saturday March 30th from 11am-1pm, Rolling Hill Church is hosting an Easter Jam. The event is free and will include egg hunts, inflatables, and games. Food trucks will be on site for an additional cost.

Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency is hosting a food giveaway for county residents on April 5th from 9AM-1PM. The event will be held at Fairview Ball Park located at: 214 HWY 96 N, Fairview, TN. For more information, please contact Pam Palmer at (615) 417-1523.

Tennessee Environmental Council (TEC), in partnership with Nissan is hosting a Recycling Roundup on April 6th at Nissan Headquarters, 1 Nissan Way in Franklin, TN 37067. They will accept hard-to-recycle items like mattresses, tires, glass, Styrofoam, electronics, alkaline batteries, scrap metal, and ink cartridges. Ben’s BBQ will be held on 4/7 from 2-5pm at Mill Creek Brewing. This family friendly includes live music (90's covers), BBQ small plates from Corky's and Bar-b-Cutie, popcorn from Kettle Corn Classic, and cotton candy from Pandy Cotton Candy. Come check out the classic and custom car show as well as a silent auction.  Items for auction include autographed guitars from Morgan Wallen and Hardy, Titans memorabilia, Kendra Scott jewelry, and baskets/gift certificates from many local businesses. All proceeds benefit Alzheimer's research and this years goal is $20,000! This year’s Buttercup Festival will be held on Sunday April 14th from 12-6pm in the Nolensville Historic District. Join the fun with 105 vendors, live music, the Miss Buttercup Festival and more.
