Street crossings and intersections require extra caution from drivers — a pedestrian unexpectedly entering the roadway is far more vulnerable than a car making a sudden lane shift. Slow down and drive predictably; everyone is a pedestrian at some point.

From 2023-2024, 1 out of 13 crashes on Tennessee roadways involved a distracted driver. Phone use remains one of the top causes. But here's the good news: it's totally preventable!
📵 Make the driver’s seat a “No-Cell Zone” by setting your GPS beforehand and activating 'Do Not Disturb' mode before you start the car.

Commercial truck blind spots are called “no-zones” because there is no way a truck driver can see a vehicle sitting in one. When you need to pass a truck driver, do so as quickly as possible so that you get back into their visibility range. Prioritize safety, give space, and adjust your speed accordingly.

No matter what kind of vehicle you drive, Tennessee's seat belt laws require that all drivers and front seat passengers wear seat belts at all times when the vehicle is in forward motion. #BuckleUp
