Town Recorder
The Town Recorder's duties are set by the Town Charter. This department is the official record keeper for the Town of Nolensville. Duties include recording and maintaining the Board's official actions in the minutes; coordinating and distributing the agendas; maintaining contracts and agreements as well as composing ordinances and resolutions for the Town of Nolensville; and attesting signatures of the Mayor and Board.
Maintains record management for all Town departments
Maintains accurate records of all business proceedings of the Board
Acts as custodian for Town ordinances, resolutions, deeds, and contracts
Maintains Town Charter and Municipal Code
Maintains official records for the Town
Facilitates the Town’s portion of beer and liquor license applications and renewals
The Recorder oversees the adoptions and publishing of the Code of Ordinances and helps to ensure that all open record requests are in accordance to the Open Records Act as per as required by T.C.A. 10-7-503(g).
In accordance with Tennessee law, most records maintained by the Town of Nolensville are public records available for review. The Tennessee Public Records Act (TPRA) grants Tennessee citizens the right to access open public records that exist at the time of the request. TPRA does not require records custodians to compile information or create records that do not exist. Please see fee schedule for cost associated for printed documents. Please note that T.C.A. § 10-7-504(a)(20)(C) permits charging for redaction of private records.

Town Recorder 2023-2024 Accomplishments
Adopted the new updated municipal code and maintain municipal code in a current up-to-date manner following subsequent adoption of amendments.
Started and hosted the first Middle Tennessee Division Meeting that provided free professional development to Clerks/Recorders in Middle Tennessee.
Established a deadline for all agenda package items to be transmitted to the Recorder's Office.
Created a tracking system to note the date of the regular meeting and the date that the agenda package is transmitted/posted.
Distributed Board of Commissioners Public Hearing and Work Session meeting packets to the Commissioners, Town staff, and the general public via the Town’s website 48 hours before the meeting.
Distributed Board of Commissioner Regular Meeting packets to Commissioners, Town Staff, and the general public six (6) days in advance of regular meetings.
Responded to public information requests in a timely manner but no later than seven (7) business days. In the event the response will require more than seven (7) business days, a response to the applicant is provided as soon as possible to explain need for extension.
