The Economic Development Advisory Committee's (EDAC) provides recommendations to the Board of Commissioners on issues related to local economic growth and development, including but not limited to support for local businesses, efforts to increase tourism, strategies to encourage residents to shop local, and research into opportunities for grant funding.

The EDAC consists of seven (7) Nolensville residents or business owners, who are appointed by the Board of Commissioners. The meetings are held the fourth Thursday of each month at 4:00 p.m.

Economic Development Advisory Committee 2023-2024 Accomplishments

  • Continue to maintain/update our online and internal business directory.

  • Launched a quarterly small business networking series that has proven successful.  Feedback has been great.

  • Strategic relationship with Visit Franklin.  Partnership has been helpful in directing advertising and traffic to Nolensville.

  • Small Town, Big Heart initiative launched to drive traffic to local businesses.  Designed and distributed Nolensville Small Town Big Heart merchandise to our local businesses introducing them to the campaign and the purpose of the initiative.  Created several campaign slogans to roll out on social media to encourage shopping local.

  • Held several ribbon cutting ceremonies for our new businesses and continue to reach out to new businesses to welcome them to Nolensville through our ribbon cutting ceremonies.

  • Rolled out the Holiday Photo Stops - participants for our first holiday photo stop promotion included over 25 participants.  Will continue with the holiday photo stops in 2024.
